The Quail Specialists
This site is dedicated to the keeping and breeding of quails. There are many different species, some very common, others quite rare.
When I started keeping quails, I had a lot of difficulty finding much relevant information. I spent many long winter evenings researching and planning my next steps in quail breeding. While there is a lot of information on the internet and books, it’s often the case that the information is scattered. You have to search for it all over the place, picking up snippets here and there to complete a jigsaw.
My aim, perhaps a little optimistically, is to collect together as much information as I can and put it together. So newcomers will have a single source of information.
Many of the reports are based on my own views and experience of breeding and keeping quail, and thus may differ from those of other people. Although I keep a fair number of different species of quail, and will try to identify and list as many as possible, I think this site will continue to be a work in progress, as more information is added. For this reason, I’m always happy to hear the views of others, so we can ensure that the information provided is as relevant and up-to-date as possible.
